Pet Insurance… is it worth it?

Posted February 14th, 2009 by Jan

Consumer Reports does not think so.. but with the digital age is working its was into animal medicine it may be worth a look…

Our 12 year old Jordan has cost us close to $10,000 in the last 2 years and if we moved forward with her current situation, we are looking at about another $6,000 or more.

Granted, that except for being spayed and vaccinations, she never cost us a cent… or did all the other cats and dogs we have had over the years. Pro rating we have done okay…

With our new rescue Doberman puppy, Holly Go Lightly, we will take the pet insurance ride.

Our vet recommended Pets Best Insurance and after checking into some of the others, it may be the best choice for us.  $75 deductible per incident is about what an office visit and a shot of anything will cost. At least in Los Angeles, Ca.

I think I will twitter and put a note on facebook to see if others have an opinion.
